( Photographs by Don Johnson ) Extremely special pals give their hair to "Locks of Love" Santa Paula Reports Outlined : Aug 01, 2008 Marissa Johnson, age seven, and Taylor Devine, age seven, are best of pals and decided lately to get a particularly special hair cut from Tisa Grant at Tisa's Salon & Spa. Both girls donated their hair to "Locks of Love", which is a nonprofit organization that uses donated hair to form the best quality hair prosthetics for poor kids under age eighteen afflicted by long-term medical hair loss ( including cancer-related treatments ). The prostheses helps to revive the children's' self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers. Locks of Love accepts 10-inch minimum length ( tip to tip ) of clean, dry hair, bundled into a ponytail or plat. |
